A WRITER'S FRIEND

Sometimes you stumble on something that makes you smile, laugh, roll on the floor, or makes you think.


What I want to tell you is none of that.



I constantly look around this wonder world of words (isn't that what WWW stands for???) and very often am disappointed with what is out there. A lot of “blah, blah blah” and not a whole lot of useful, genuine thoughts. When I clicked on http://ryallon.blogspot.com/ , I knew I had to share my good fortune. If you want to write and get published, have a look and see what someone, probably just like you, has gone through. If you published and are a bit disappointed, have a look and see what has gone on since his first book (of many!) was done. If you wonder how many books should a new author expect to sell, have a look because unlike most, John posts sales figures of all his work. Maybe your just curious... have a look.

Writers are a different sub-species of human. I doubt anyone would disagree. While most folks go out of their way to maintain their privacy, we proclaim to the world, “Look how stupid I am!”. Hopefully we don't do it because we really ARE and hope to find disagreements. We write to entertain, to vent, and many write to help. John H Carroll, obviously is of the latter.

He is doing his thing openly and transparently, for the good of all in the writer's kingdom. While he is prolific in his published works, he doesn't forget where he has been. He creates worlds in which we can escape, but I for one am glad he is in mine.
