DIDN'T KNOW I MISSED YOU TILL TODAY

I didn't know I missed you till today
Memories have been safely locked away
The pain just stopped, like, yesterday
It all came back with you just saying, “Hey”

But there's no blame for how I feel
You made it clear and kept it real
I tried to sell you a new deal
But all it made me do for you was heal

My heart got hurt, that's nothing new
But what is strange is how I do
Moving on is just a word or two
'cause everything's reminding me of you

It's been years since we were one
Since then I've only seen the sun
A few times when I think I've won
and thought repairs from you were done

Wrong again, I'm used to it
My time with you was worth a bit
Just knowing that the deepest pit
Was the one place that my love would fit

It over-flowed, took hold of me
Imagining who you could be
A loving wife for all to see
I tried and failed, that's reality
