Imagine my shock when, in another fit of RedBoxicitis, I rented ANOTHER pretty cool movie. I found this surprising since it seems lately, I haven't been overwhelmed by much of anything Hollywood (or Bollywood!) has turned out.
I don't know if this is yet another indication of my pending membership to Curmudgeonality, or just a streak of not-so-great movies. I hope NEITHER is correct.
Anyhoo....
This movie I got was called The Right Kind of Wrong and featured actors I hadn't seen before. Understand, I have no cable and don't want to spend all day watching my 55", so it may well be these folks are well known.
The story is based on a book by Tim Sandlin that he wrote 25 years prior to the movie being finally made. The trials and tribulations (135 rejections???!!!!) are written on his website that you can see if you click on here. It's a fun back-story. See if you can spot the book in the movie! Very cool....
With that being said, I liked to idea of the ridiculousness of The Right Kind of Wrong. What SANE person falls for a woman on her wedding day??? An INTERESTING, irresistably sane person in a movie, a stalking, scary, future-possible-serial-killer in real life I suppose. But who goes to the movies for a dose of real life?
Once you get past that, it moves along with good pace and keeps a little smile on your face throughout.
If you never heard of this film, by all means, give it a shot and let me know what you think!
