I dream, still
of us as one
finally together

overcoming all
the hurdles high
the challenges many
two different people

the distance great
but not too far
to keep apart
two damaged souls

that once combine
uplift the other
to newfound heights
unimagined joy

the thought escapes
of why the time
that passed before
it was not used

to build a life
a family full
of laughs and fun

that's down the road

gazing eyes

of why this works
