I found this among my papers tonight, written many years ago....








You went away
but with a smile
Telling me
"I'll see you soon!"

My mind, it started
to imagine
how things would be
without you here

No more smiles
or anticipating
the good times
we always have

No more hugs
no more touching
no finding out
the important things

Like...
Will she change from Cinderella?
to someone else
as time
passes by

There's so much
to be discovered
so much more
to learn

about this angel
that has given me
the joy of friendship
...and maybe more

We don't know
how things will happen
they will unfold
as days go by

one by one
they roll along
as we go deeper
to what will come

I hope you know
that I'll be thinking
"Come back soon my dear!"

my arms await
to hold you tight
to feel you
next to me again

soon isn't soon enough....
