How can you NOT root for Taylor Swift?

I'm not saying that because she is cute (she is) or she is a local girl done good (she is) or she is sort of really famous (uhhhh... yea!)....

I say it because in this world of celebrity and overexposure, she seems very different. Maybe because she writes and sings about her life. She invites you in and tells you what is on her mind, on the good days AND on the crappy ones. Like all of us, she has had her share of both and faces the realities of life head-on.

Of course, I try and do the same thing, so maybe it's the kindred-spirit connection. Yes, I know there is a bit of difference between my fan and her millions of rabid followers! We both want to expose the fact that, while we may be in pain, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We want to help folks see that they are not alone in what they are going through and they can be a better person once they get past their troubles.

She also doesn't seem to take herself too seriously. She makes jokes about her life and choices and it's her genuininity that shines through. The fact that she prepared for all this since before her teen years sure helped. I'm sure her parents have done their part in making her be the young lady we all would be proud to know.

Her life has had ups and downs and more to come. I hope there are more positives than not. I hope she accomplishes everything she dreamt about and beyond. I really hope she finds true love that is returned... and lasts longer than one album!
