LONG ISLAND MEDIUM

Have you ever watched the TV show, LONG ISLAND MEDIUM?
I saw the promo for it recently while watching another program and decided to record some episodes that were coming up. I like to think I have an open mind on most things but I have my own vision of heaven and it DOESN'T include loved ones hanging around! [In case you don't know exactly WHAT a medium is - from the free online dictionary: A person thought to have the power to communicate with the spirits of the dead or with agents of another world or dimension. Also called psychic] If nothing else, it may be entertaining....

I'll admit that I went to a psychic twice with mixed feelings afterward. I neither completely believe nor disbelieve. I don't expect to be swayed because of a TV show however, because the evidence is in and most of what you see is phoney.

Mediums, in general, are constantly battling skeptics and Theresa is no different. If you go online and look, the comments vary from believers that are positive to haters that are downright cruel. Not only do they remark about the way she talks or looks, but how unbelievable the whole idea is. They don't want to hear any argument and call those that are supportive of mediums stupid or worse. Ugh...

Anderson Cooper had her on his program and came away still not fully buying in. Dr Oz was blown away. Just goes to show, not everyone thinks the same or believes the same things. I think that is interesting. We can make sense of the same thing so many ways.

I know they edit way more material out of an episode on TV than not, so I take it all with a grain of salt. Yet, I still find myself getting emotional right along with the people on the screen. Seeing another human being genuinely touched is a very dramatic thing to most of us. I'll keep watching just because I enjoy the Caputo family and I like the idea that life goes on, even after your heart stops beating.

Of course, there are many people on the show that go from having a raised eyebrow to a flood of tears once they hear things they claim no one else would know. The peace and joy that came from having a medium tell them the whats, whys, and hows come through the TV straight to your heart. It makes me wonder where are people's religious beliefs in this time of need. Whether you believe or not, isn't it wonderful that people can find a way to release their grief and finally move on with their lives? It's also inspiring seeing so many close families out there that value each other so and feel the pain of loss so much.

It's the way life is supposed to be, right?
