I DON'T UNDERSTAND....
Hmmmmmmmm.... the Tigger Woods infatuation. I just don't get it.
There's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG list of things I don't understand. Why does coffee smell so good yet taste so terrible? Why do women want to wear heels that are uncomfortable, impractical, and downright dangerous at times? How can companies that start small and succeed by being innovative, taking risks, and standing out from the crowd become the very thing they didn't want to be? Money-grabbers that eventually become irrelevant wasn't the goal at the start. How can politicians sleep at night knowing they are doing more harm than good? Why is it when a woman has a tattoo around her breastal area, yet gets that offended look in her eyes if you look? These are all things I don't get. No clue, no answer in sight.
The amount of attention that Eldrick receives confuses my rational thinking. What is there to adore? His friendly disposition? That's a joke, especially if he is struggling. Do you ever see him smiling and talking with fans? Do you see him supporting causes that don't begin with “Tiger”? In his interviews, do you feel like you are getting something meaningful and heartfelt or just another recording from a faceless puppet? I can't imagine anyone captivated by this guy, unless you are with him while he is making it rain at the local strip club. Just because someone is good at a sport, does that forgive EVERYTHING? Really??!!
His lack of passion about anything that doesn't promote him, his image, or his sponsors turns me right off. I'll admit to watching when I have a good chance to see him get beat, or if there is a great competition between the finalists. Good sport is always good.
I just don't understand.
And yet, it's obvious why the crowd wants to see the wins. They want to say they witnessed history. It's not about the golfer, it's about thinking you are a part of it. TV has a way of making every sport better than ever, records falling all the time, and if they don't, the measurement will just have to change to favor today and dim the lights on past accomplishments. Phooey on that!
Do you ever wonder what his role is at the foundation that bears his name> Does he actively participate? Does he drop by for a visit without the cameras? Does he ever think of mopping the floors or emptying the trash? Does he have a side that IS likeable for it's own merits? Is he a good Dad? Does he persoanlly try and help those that need a hand up or does that fall to someone he pays? Doesn't he like brunettes at all?
What happened to cheering for the underdog? Hoping for a new face, a fresh personality, or maybe even someone that uses their real name instead of a cool nickname.
Ugh.... If his name was Jeklyn would he be as popular?
