WHY WASN'T IT YOU?

YESTERDAY.........

….Somewhere in this vast land of ours, maybe even in the same town YOU live in, possibly even someone you know, someone finally did something they always wanted to do. Could have been buying a dream car, taking a dream vacation, or finally bringing a potbelly pig into the family. They crossed something off their bucket list, and not by giving up on it! We all have a list, long or short.

Why wasn't it you?

Somewhere, two strangers met for the first time and acted like they knew each other forever. They knew in minutes their search was over and they would be spending eternity together.... or at least the night. They went from lonely to “how can I possibly imagine my life WITHOUT this person” in a blink. If you are single....

Somewhere, someone had a great day without even trying. No Dr Phil, no medication required, no excuses. They spent the day smiling and had no reason except they are happy.

Somewhere, someone found the time in their busy schedule to get EVERYTHING on their to-do list done. DONE. Not rescheduled, not deleted, not delegated, but completely and finally DONE. If you always get your list completed, then congrats, you are superhuman. If you are like the rest of us, then...

Somewhere, someone found the time to do NOTHING. They enjoyed the peace and quiet of solitude and had no tasks to be reminded of, no calls to make, no one to interrupt them, no distractions, no guilt. If that is something you would enjoy, then...

Somewhere, someone didn't get much sleep, since they were so excited about the coming day and the possibilities. Tomorrow couldn't come fast enough. They had something really, really great to look forward to....

Somewhere, someone got up the nerve to ask someone they feel is very special to dinner. They were so nervous just thinking about it that they were queasy, their hands were sweating, their heart pounding, yet they gathered up enough courage (hopefully without the assistance of Jack Daniels) to pose the question and finally know the answer once and for all. If you have someone you gaze at from a distance and imagine time spent together....

Why wasn't it you?

Somewhere, someone is smiling because a stranger went out of their way to be nice. It didn't have to involve something grand or historical, didn't include a leprechaun granting you three wishes, didn't even have an ulterior motive. It was just a fellow human being, acting the way we ALL should be, and it was noticed. If not even a grin came across your face in a while, then I wonder if you are asking the question,
