I am sending this message in hopes that it may reach our First Lady.
We are all proud of the way the First Family lives their public life. With teenage daughters and an insanely-hectic schedule, I'm sure not everyone would be up to the task. Thankfully, we elected a GREAT First Lady that not only respects her position, she uses it to further causes that need attention brought to them.
It is in this vein that I humbly request a donation for an event to benefit the Middletown Public Library. We are putting on a Car Show on August 23rd as a way to put some "fun" into fundraising, and one of the activities at the show will be an auction. If you could see fit as to send a few appropriate things (or bring them by since you aren't THAT far away - maybe you could show the Ford Escape if you still have it!!!! You ARE invited!!!). Those items could be auctioned off to raise funds for our Library. It would be much appreciated.

The value of books and the place of Libraries in our
culture is changing but not disappearing. Every day, there's folks who
are thankful we have the resources available to them when the need
arises. Not only books, but reading programs to internet service, DVD's
and record albums, the Library is a community treasure we want to make
sure endures.

I sent this today, thinking it is probably a waste of time, yet I felt that I should. To not even try to expand our auction items is unacceptable, but, do I really expect the Obama's to come rolling into town and donate to our show? Of course not. I am not THAT delusional.
Now, let's talk about space aliens....
