This week will probably go unnoticed by most, but it is significant. It inspired deep thoughts, some sadness, and a wonder of the future. It's been decades in the making, and it's finally here.

This week marks the anniversary of Elvis. Not of his birth, that was in January. Not of his death. That was in August. No.

Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 is the 15,561st day after Elvis' passing. "Why is that significant?" you ask?? Elvis only lived 15561 days, but what a life!

There's not many of us that will be remembered long after we're gone. That's neither bad nor good that's just normal. We don't live our life to be measured in history, but hopefully, we live to better the world in some small way.

Elvis clearly had the talent to make many, many, many people recall the significance his life had on theirs. His personal story is one of the few things that can overshadow that of the Entertainer. The classic poor boy does good and doesn't forget where he came from is one that we never tire of hearing about.

Personally, it doesn't bother me in the least that I'm already forgotten by most people, even before I'm gone. What's amazing in Elvis's life and in death, is the love folks had for him in his heyday, and that is ever growing, a lifetime after he left us.

The measurement of an Entertainer's life, especially a singer, is usually measured in unit sales. Elvis can surely win any argument that he has had more of an effect than anyone in that area. But he seems to have expanded beyond mere singer or actor and became a Legend.

His house, which most people know has a name, is the second most visited residence in the country. Only the White House has more people come through the doors.

Elvis has sold more units after his death then many groups or individuals in the Hall of Fame. There are still books being written, interviews being unearthed, and information still being revealed, over 40 year after his death.

Compared to almost anyone... Well... You just can't.

Elvis was one of a kind. Too bad he's not here at 85, still happy, still with loving fans, and probably a great inspiration to those who kicked addiction as he would have done.
